Friendliness, good food and location
Rooms although being classified as revamped, are still a bit dated
Comfortable big bed, free parking, and good breakfast.
No shower pressure, and there were only seven TV channels.
Top marks to the staff - friendly, cheerful and made us feel at home - loved our room.
Good sized room, light and airy. Nice cotton bedding. Friendly staff.
Breakfast could have been better - very greasy/deep fried? potato scone. Jam and marmalade the congealed type you get in a plastic packet.
The location is good (close to the bus and train station, supermarket nearby, town centre). The staff were very nice and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. Wi-fi was free (bring your own laptop). Tea/coffee/ biscuits in the room, which was nice after a long day walking !!!
Can't fault this hotel. The only negative point was the door of the shower (it was a bit difficult to close it)
The staff were absolutely lovely and helpful and breakfast was great.
Bedroom was a abit noisy with traffic outside but thats because at home we have complete silence.
The hotel staff were very helpful and very friendly. We tried the High Tea and would thoroughly recommend it. The homebakes and cream cakes were just great!
The bed was a link together twin bed made into one king size. One half was noticeably more comfortable than the other.
Helpfulness of staff. Very good sized room and ensuite. Everything was spotless Food was fresh and well prepared. Extremely convenient for main routes and town centre.
100% in all departments, very nice place and staff. We will be back.
The staff were very nice and helpful, facilities were good, breakfast excellent.
the room that I stayed in (no 23) was directly above the function room with as far as I could tell no sound proofing therefore all sounds traveled upwards making it impossible to sleep until the function finished, I think that due to this the hotel had a cheek to charge full price for this substandard room.
Cleanliness and very good breakfast and service.
We had very comfortable stay in this hotel.
Easy to reach
Extremely noisy, far too expensive for this kind of hotel. Tiny room.
The friendliness of the staff. The lovely tastey bar lunch we had.
The water pressure noise that woke us up at 7.30 am on the sunday morning sounding like a fire alarm. The bed needed a new mattress as it was sagging. A milk jug used at breakfast had a hairline crack.
The room was very clean and staff were very friendly and helpful
We paid £210 for 2nights stay and felt it was over priced as our room was very small and at breakfast we had the scottish breakfast which was served at our table but only consisted of 1 slice of bacon 1 egg 1 sausage and a half a slice of haggis and black pudding ,felt the size of the room and the breakfast let this hotel down for us at the price we paid
